Performance 1 of 2

How twisted it is when the stage is lit
And the singer
Bellows
Or more apt – when the dancer dances
That we spectate
With such pomposity
As if the bellows-
As if the dance
Is danced for
Us

The spotlight does not
Request the dance
But bestows it

The dancer knows it
To be simple
Silly
Why perform
For an unadorned face
In a dark seat
When it’s the spotlight that is watching
